Description
Starting with the fundamentals of thermography, this course provides a detailed introduction to the IEC TS 62446-3 technical specification and its application to the thermographic inspection of photovoltaic systems. IEC TS 62446-3 is the key IEC reference for outdoor infrared thermography of PV modules and plants in operation, and it provides a structured framework for the quantitative assessment of thermal anomalies. Throughout the course, participants will explore how radiometric data can be used to evaluate inspection results, identify defects, and understand the severity level of malfunctions detected during thermographic surveys.
The course combines theory and practical application, with a strong focus on the interpretation of thermal images and the correct use of inspection tools and procedures. Particular attention is given to the main causes of error that can affect survey quality, as well as to the technical requirements and recommendations defined by the standard.
The course covers the following topics
